Epic Siberian odyssey
During 2015 – 2018 Alexander Khimushin covered tens of thousand kilometers across Siberia visiting and photographing dozens of ethnic minorities. In February 2018, a photo essay about The World In Faces was published by the National Geographic (Russian Edition). NG International Editorial Team based in Washington DC ranked the essay as the best edit (A+) in its class around the world, among all printed editions of the National Geographic magazine.
Buying magazine in Siberia
“I remember the day when I finally got out of the villages and reached a large train station. At the station, there was a kiosk where I spotted the latest issue of National Geographic magazine. That’s when I discovered that “The World in Faces” story had already been published,” recalls Alexander.
