About the Photo
This photo of a nomad man I took in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia. Late September of 2015. I was travelling some isolated areas of this desert by 4×4, which, according to the Lonely Planet, you need a helicopter to get to 😉 No cars, no towns, no people for many miles around. I was lost ones and tried to find my way to the town of Gurvantes when I spotted a silhouette of a man standing virtually in the middle of nowhere. When I approached him I realised that there was a yurt nearby where he was living alone. The man was looking for a heard of his camels that apparently got too far away. The photo was featured as Editors’ Choice by National Geographic Russia website.
